AD60

Manual

DJH supplies a decent instruction manual to build the kit. This is written in one continuous stream of text, page after page. Constantly loosing track of where I left off in this text soup soon drove me crazy.

I scanned the document and converted it to WORD-format. I read instruction for instruction how the kit was to be built. I gave every instruction a new line and numbered the instructions. This way I can easily keep track of my progress. I coloured tricky instructions red. I put a diagram on top of every single page so that the applicable diagram was always in view without having to leaf through the manual. I did not alter DJH's text though. My version of the manual is available for download (see bottom of page).

The manual does not take painting into account. In the case of the AD60 that is not overly complicated, the loco is going to black anyway. If you want to model the museum version 6029 you may want to leave off some of the piping and brass until after painting. As far as painting is something to reckon with, you will find it described on the pages of the website.

DJH did not number the parts on the etch which often gives rise to confusion and a lot of searching. Besides restructuring the manual I also kept account of the numbering of parts in the etches and digitised that as well. The etch numbering is also available for download, with the added advantage that you can use your PDF reader's search function to quickly find any particular number.
